Dooley Auctioneers new Greystones office
Dooley Auctioneers is delighted to announce the launch of our dedicated new branch office in Greystones.
In a significant departure for the Wicklow property market, we are providing a seven-day opening service at our new premises at La Touche Place, Greystones, making us the first local estate agents to do so.
The extended opening hours set an important new trend by providing a more customer-focused service to home hunters seeking property in the area.
“Our approach is to suit our customers, rather than expect them to suit us,” says Gabriel Dooley, Managing Director of Dooley Auctioneers.
“We sell a lot of properties to first-time buyers, couples and young people. People lead increasingly hectic lives and for them, the weekend is easily the best time to view properties, explore the area, and to call into us. Because of work commitments, this is something many people are simply not in a position to do during the week.
“Since opening our new office, we have experienced a tremendous number of callers on Saturdays and Sunday, making these our busiest days of the week by far.”
Long popular with home hunters, Greystones’ enduring appeal has been enhanced in recent times by the town’s new marina, a wide variety of retail and food offerings, several large sports facilities and an excellent choice of schools, including three new ones.
“For people new to Greystones, we spend time showing them around the area and introducing them to all the amenities the town has to offer,” says Gabriel. “This generally takes at least one hour, so it’s best done at weekends.
“Another important consideration is that people rightly want to view properties in daylight, and without weekend opening, this is just not possible at this time of year.”
Located in a high footfall area on the main route between Greystones Marina and the town’s bustling commercial and retail centre, the new Dooley Auctioneers office enjoys a commanding presence at La Touche Place, enhanced by prominent window displays in eye-catching new livery following a recent rebrand.
Inside, Dooley’s customer-friendly approach is reflected by warm and welcoming décor, comfortable furniture and even a bar from which visitors can be served coffee, tea, soft drinks or perhaps a celebratory glass of champagne to seal the latest deal!
“Greystones has always been a key market for us ever since we established Dooley Auctioneers 21 years ago,” says Gabriel. “In recent years we have been actively servicing the town from our office in Delgany, but given the growing demand for homes in Greystones, we are delighted to heighten our presence here.”
He predicts that the already high demand for starter homes in North Wicklow in general and Greystones in particular is set to surge in the new year following the Central Bank’s recent decision to relax deposit rules for first-time buyers.
“If you take the example of a house priced at €300,000, the new rules lifting the 10% deposit cap of €220,000 means that buyers will be required to come up with €8,000 less by way of a deposit, which is a big help.
“While it is not as radical a step as some have been calling for, no one wants to return to the reckless lending that led to the last housing crash. In that light, it’s a cautious step, but one in the right direction, which will start filtering through to the market in 2017.”
Located just off the town’s main street in La Touche Place, the new Greystones office of Dooley Auctioneers is open seven days a week 10am to 5pm.
